With the Internet and weekend courses becoming more widespread, many people are taking classes while working full-time. These and other students need ways to fit studying into their busy schedules, and using a voice recording to study is a great way to memorize facts on the go.
Things You’ll Need:
- PC with Windows Sound Recorder
- Script of study material
- Media or CD player
Step 1:
Break your subject down into simple pieces that are easy to recite. Focus on questions from quizzes, chapter reviews or areas of study with which you do not feel comfortable.
Step 2:
Prepare a script to read to your voice recorder. Generally index cards, outlines and lecture notes are good ways of organizing concise facts to recite.
Step 3:
Read through your notes or script several times to familiarize yourself with the information.
Step 4:
Record your notes using Windows Sound Recorder. Before trying Windows Sound Recorder, you may need to purchase an external microphone.
Step 5:
Choose "All Programs" from the "Start" menu. Then select "Accessories-Entertainment-Sound Recorder." The "Sound Recorder" box will appear on your screen.
Step 6:
Hit the red "Record" button and read your script into the microphone.
Step 7:
Save the audio file to use with your media player or burn it to a compact disc using Windows Media Player.
Step 8:
Play the recorded script on your media or CD player and learn on the run.
